Epistemology Revisited
Two thousand years ago, Aristotle came up with a theory of physics which involved a metaphor between a falling rock (made of Earth) would be attracted down to Earth because of an allegiance just like man was drawn to his Nation. In other words, Gravity = Nationalism. A bit later, he postulated that therefore, heavy things fall faster than light things (false). He never thought to test it, though. We know better now. Now we’re going to test things, because Newton and a bunch of others came up with The Philosophy of Science. Yay! But, just as we had made a leap before, we are about to make another leap again. What’s hilarious is how non-leapy this leap looks at first. Leaps are obvious only in hindsight, when you have some concrete history to compare them to.
This next leap will be led by our connectedness, via computers. It will be the entrepreneurs who understand connectedness who will start the next revolutions.
